Mum, we're frightened we might forget your face,
Your loving smile, your warmth, your grace
Your hands that held us, oh so close
These are the things we're missing the most..

Mum, we're frightened we might forget your thoughtful ways
Caring, & unselfish, thinking of others, every day
The many ways you enriched our lives - the best of mothers
You taught us to know right from wrong and to see good in others.

You have left us and we thought you'd never die
It makes us sad and hurts so much, we begin to cry
Oh Mum, we love you and know that you loved us
Is it true that you can see us - and are you proud of us?

We'd give the world to see you once again
To tell us of another life, a life without pain
A better world, than we've ever known
A Heaven, where we are all God's own.

One more chance to hold your hand, or touch your skin
It's warmth and softness, felt so comforting
Once more to see your smile and hear your laugh
But for this, we need more, much more, than a photograph.

We visit your grave and silently pray
That we will meet again some day
The tears still fall unexpectedly
When we are alone with our memories.

We know memories may see us through this time of sadness
And although it's hard to think of you with any gladness
We want to thank you for your unending love
And hope you are safe in the arms of the Lord above.

Our love for you Mum, will never die
Even if our heart's are heavy and we often cry
Living our lives without you, we feel very alone
But we survive by thinking of you looking down.

Goodnight dear Mum and God bless
We've tried to make our lives a success
So you won't feel that we've let you down
We'll love you forever, the best Mum ever known.

Sweet dreams, all our love, from Lil and family.

The Lord said 'My precious, precious child, I love you and would not leave
you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of
footprints in the sand, it was then that I carried you.'
