My husband killed himself yesterday
« on: September 17, 2017, 01:25:32 AM »
Sitting in the dark all alone with bed sheets that still smell of him.
Can't believe I never get to stroke his cheek and tell him how much I love him again.
How do people cope?

I'm so so sorry  I just wanted to reach out and send you a
You must be still in shock. Stay here with people who can understand your grief. My husband died suddenly from a brain haemorrhage, our circumstances are a bit different but the shock and grief are similar I'm sure xx
I've been coping somehow for 6 1/2 months just by taking each hour and day as it comes. My dog helps me through my days and nights.
Gentle  xxx

Sending a welcome hug   at the beginning just concentrate on day by day, or hour by hour if need be  xx
Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.
Hold on in there xx

Just me. We worked, played and slept together. Everything seems empty and pointless without him

I am so sorry. Please do keep chatting to people on here if you can. I'm on my own too, I have a couple of brilliant friends (but they live far away).  I'm starting counselling next week so I'm able to get my feelings out to someone. That was great advice that quitestorm and emz2014 gave about taking things hour by hour,  day by day xx

So sorry to hear this, such a shock for you.
Just take one day at a time, speak to us here.
I wore my husband's jacket everyday for the 1st month after he died, day and night. I felt I was close to him. He had left a cigarette packet in the pocket and I kept fumbling with it, so I know how you feel. Friends are a great support, don't push them away too quickly, even if you feel that you just want to be on your own and cannot be bothered to talk. Thinking of you xx

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Sometimes we try to make sense of things that in the end we can never truly understand, the why's, the what if's. Like others have said, one day at a time, big hugs xx
