Avatar on the side

My avatar picture comes up on my profile on its side. Why is this? It's right way up on my photos on my iPad.

I'm not sure Didi.  Maybe your photo is a landscape.  Dave should be able to answer, once he see's this message.

Have you tried rotating your picture on your ipad first?   I haven't got an ipad but on my tablet if I view my pictures I can do some basic editing, such as rotating and cropping, have a look if you have that option, then see if that photo loads the right way :-)
