Childhood Loss of a Parent
« on: April 16, 2017, 04:42:43 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm new to this group and my farther dies when I was 4 years old. I've recently started having counselling, and feel as if a weight has been lifted from my shoulders in a lot of ways. I find it difficult to talk about my dad, and still feel the loss very keenly. I have struggled to find anyone else that understands that loss, is anyone here an adult grieving for a childhood loss?

Faith

Hi Faith and welcome.

It's a truly terrible shame for someone so young as 4 years old to loose a parent when they need that love and care as part of their growing up.

I do hope someone here can empathise with you and give you some helpful guidance coping with such a tragic loss.

Dave.
Take care and please keep posting however small or large you can manage, we need them.
