My lovely loving soulmate of 40 years died 9 months ago. We thought we had years ahead of us together but not to be. Devastated. Virtually everything I really really value lost - joy, laughter, sunshine, playfulness, talking, understanding, closeness, intimacy, kindness, caring, trust, honesty, respect, passion, peace, sharing, love.....With her my heart had found its home. Now it’s lost, ripped apart and apprehensive about a future without her.
People say “but you have your grandchildren”. It’s ok. They cannot even begin to imagine what it’s like can they.

Sending you a welcome hug   people who havent lost loved ones cant quite comprehend how it feels.  They likely think they are being comforting with some of the clumsy statements they come out with, but hopefully they mean well beneath (which I know doesnt help much  its so hard when grieving) xx
Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.
Hold on in there xx

Hi Doug
I totally understand your pain. They were so late in diagnosing my partners cancer he never go chance for any treatment. All the blurb and information stated it was so co-ordinated. It was a complete shambles. I am not going to go on about that though. You have a difficult time ahead of you, make sure you get the right support and take all the help you can get at this time. You will need it.
Regards
Pam

Hi Doug
so sorry for your loss -i lost my soulmate too when i lost my husband - I know that having grandchildren cant make up for that nothing can but the one thing i did take from having grandchildren was a determination that they would know him -even though three were not even born then, they know him, through me and through what the older ones pass on.They know what was funny, loving, irritatating, what he stood for, what he believed.
So even though they cant replace him -no -one can do that, keeping his memory alive and building on that by living my life for him has been a lifeline - a reason to keep fighting
This place has been another lifeline and i hope that i can be for you too.
