The worst feelings come tumbling in at night. I was awake the whole night at the weekend and then felt tearful all day, probably because exhausted. I'm finding a regular brief cry brings relief. A long one makes it worse. Chin up.

hello mike59 - I think it all comes in waves and when it revisits it can be more powerful than before. It is just part of the healing process and grief. There would be no one to replace your wife but if you have family that you can just spill it out sometimes, that could help.

Hello Mike59 my condolences to you. It's indescribable I find and a kind and understanding family helps but there are times when nothing does. Keep posting and tell us more about yourself.
I'll never get over losing her and I used to think that eventually
I would learn to live with it - that's not happened yet.

Grief is such a rollercoaster, and it does come in waves.  Hold on in there, it will get easier to cope in time.  Right now be gentle with yourself  xx

Hi Mike59. So sorry to hear of your loss.

I recently lost my wife and my children have been incredibly supportive but there are huge gaping holes in the day that only Margaret could fill. When I feel like talking I often call the Samaritans. I find I can talk easier about some things to an anonymous stranger and it helps me get a handle on the myriad of thoughts that are bouncing around in my head.

Wishing you the strength to cope at this most difficult of times.
