Lost my Sister 4 years ago

I lost my Sister, Sarah, 4 years ago when she was 34. She suffered with depression and alcoholism and one night she collapsed unexpectedly and died. I find myself struggling to come to terms with it and wishing to find answers. My love to all of you xxx

Hi and welcome.sorry for the loss of your sister.It may seem like 4 years is a long time ago but in grief terms it isn't especially if you have unanswered questions.Sometimes there are no definite answers and learning to accept that is difficult too.I hope that by coming here you will be able to find some peace.We don't have all the answers either but grief is something all of us share.

Hi Andrew. So sorry to hear about the loss of your sister.

There will always be unanswered questions. It is in our nature to want to find a reason for everything. I suppose it helps us to keep everything 'tidy'. Unfortunately many of questions are unanswerable. Things sometimes don't make sense yet we still try to make sense of them.

I wish I could offer advice on how to stop looking for the answers but if I could then I would not have similar questions myself.

Dont think we ever stop asking why and looking for the reasons and wanting answers, wondering could more have been done, could we ourselves have done more, it takes a long while Andrew for these thoughts to go, hoping you can find some comfort amongst us x
