I constantly have regrets about things that happen which Chris is no longer here to see Brian. I just got back from our Great Granddaughters first birthday party. The whole family were there and, as usual I sat quietly in the corner just thinking to myself how happy Chris would have been  :cray:.

With a bit of luck you might get a nice big bunch of Palm Nuts to follow after the flowersd Brian .

I've got a long term project on digitising all my old photos Brian and I know exactly what you mean about "bad idea" because I mostly end up with tears running down my cheeks . I scanned a set of 35mm  negatives today from a holiday we had in Skiathos and that brought back some very happy memories before the longing overwhelmed me. We hired a boat there and found a tiny inaccesible beach where we spent an idyllic afternoon  :cray:

I've done a fair bit of 'video grabbing' from VHS, MiniDV, 8mm and Hi8 tapes in the past. If you're working with an analogue source then the USB video grabbers that are available work very well. The trouble is that as soon as you think that you're all set up, they introduce a new standard and all your old tapes, DVD's and video files are out of date. Windows 10 updates also plays havoc with system drivers as well. If I ever complete my mission I'lll have compiled everything to .mp4 videos which I store on my network drive. My problem is that while I'm trying to put the old stuff in some sort of order, I keep getting swamped by new images and video from all the family

ohhh... Bread Makers - a slippery slope. I have to ration myself to 'baking' no more than once a fortnight. A normal loaf lasts me 7 - 10 days but when I make my own it's fatal. A loaf has been know to disappear before it's even had the chgance to go cold  :cheesy:. A large loaf (1lb 5oz dry ingredients) takes me less than 1 minute then the machine takes over and 4 hours later a perfect loaf every time. I always make half and half wholemeal and white.

Is Tonto in the field on his own, or has he got the ladies in there with him to keep him in order  - mind you they can be just as bad

Ooo, I love my breadmaker - the smell of fresh bread wafts around the house near the end of cooking :-)  and can do different flavour ones, like cheese, or olives
I do gluten free now.  Fresh bread doesnt last as long, but then it's always eaten faster as tastes so good so never a problem! :-) xx

 they are cheeky buggers!!
My foxes stole the washing up brush I use for cleaning the bird bath - only realised when I saw the big spoon I use halfway down the garden (I use it to scoop the water out, and  they were outside drying)
Hope you get on ok hopping in your boot!! Xx

I've got an image in my mind - a three cornered hat, a parrot on the shoulder, rasing a tankard of rum and saying oh-arrrr.... me hearties  (well a wellington is a little bit like a sea boot).

That's a fantastic photo! :-)

Finally remembered to upload one of the foxes (lost a little quality where I have compressed it to reduce the size of the file  :undecided: )

Yep, thieves and vandals, but beautiful! :-)

I was lucky he was having a relax.  Managed to take a few of two of them playing too :-)

They seem to have calmed down a bit with their vandalism.  Only now and again dig up the corner of gravel around the roses.  Am wondering if they are after the bulbs - as they do unearth one or two each time?! (But then if they've left some, I guess thats unlikely!)

Just remembered our bread maker discussion.  Do you have any recipes yet?  I have some normal ones, prior to going gluten free. I can share either with you xx

Could make some and experiment?  I made some little white choc & raspberry bundt cakes recently and found I could freeze some successfully. Defrosted one on a sheet of kitchen roll, very slightly sticky but tasted good
Can get lots of inspiration on Instagram - maybe even have a go at different toppings :-)  we could have a buk bake off and get everyone baking!  :cheesy: xx

Hi,
Not a great photo by a long way BUT this is Ruth's Palm Tree which She grew for 20 years and for the very first time it has flowers!  She didn't live to see it.....She would have been so happy to finally see it flower. The gardens a bit overgrown in places but I will try and keep it tidy as much as i can do, already got someone to keep the lawns trimmed. Oh how I wish Ruth could see it even if its just a few seconds

RIP  Ruthie xx

I never knew that they flowered, how lovely 😊 and what a lovely way to remember her by.
I have to confess I don’t miss my old large overgrown garden, but if you can keep on top of it, it’s not so bad. I’ve got stone chips, three little terraces where I’ve put mum’s favourite statues ( a boy and a girl standing and a girl seated, and two little stone dogs) but I’d like to get a stone bird bath, one of the flat style, you know the ones I mean, like overgrown stone saucers, as I left the two bird baths ( pedestal style) in the old garden, I love birds, as did mum , so I’m hunting around for the bird bath, love reading about the 🦉 owl and the fox stealing your boot !!  I love the intarsias as well, pardon my ignorance but what is an intarsia? Sorry, they are lovely though xx

Wow I love the deer and even the motorcycle, that’s great that you have found something to focus on, keeping busy does help doesn’t it, you clearly have a gift with the wood turning/ carving. Mum loved her statues and would have had dozens more if dad would have let her!! 😂😂
