Hi everyone, yes Iím really excited about getting Max home 🏠❤️❤️🐶🐾🐾 and Iíve also decided to take a few months off work, Iíll be resigning from my substantive post as of Monday Iíll be giving 4 weeks notice and then going  back on the bank , I spoke with my manager yesterday and she was extremely supportive and understanding and said she would be more than happy to have me back anytime working as and when I want to come back. Fortunately Iím in a position to do this financially, otherwise I wouldnít have considered it. This means I can be with Max full time as he grows xxx😀😀👍👍🐾🐾🐶🐶, and I can still look after Oscar 1-2 days a week as I want him and Max to be best buddies 😍👍❤️🐶🐾🐾. Hope youíre all ok on here xxxhugs xxx

I texted the breeder today and asked after Max and to ask if she could send some pictures but Iíve heard nothing, Iím a bit worried 😢😢

I just phoned her ( the breeder ) and she said sheís not home this weekend so I asked her ( probably a stupid question) who was looking after the puppies and there was a brief moment of silence and then she said her ď my father in law ď and that she was away until late tomorrow night but would try to send me a picture on Monday, she must think Iím a right pain but I was just worried when she hadnít replied to her text , but she did answer the phone ( same number)
I think of at least I hope, that probably  Iím just worrying too much but I canít help it at times. I didnít think it was unreasonable to ask who was looking after the puppies, do you?

Stop worrying, you were only acting like a concerned pet lover and if they are breeders it shows them they will be going to a good home. I know when we were waiting to hear about Rory we counted the days and hours down until the big day and when he got home here the first thing he did was sit next to the fire and have a nap lol tires the wee luvvies out travelling home and settling in. Everything will be fine  and  yes we want photos of him x

I think you're right to ask, we should be caring owners and show that.   :hearts: And the more people that do that, the fewer instances of bad breeders we'd have! Xx

Here's some photos of Rory, the first one is the day we first saw him with Ruth holding him, the next is the day he moved in here, the next is 5 months later with his long hair and after the Ruth's death he has his hair cut. so he's still only a little dog a bit like a mini Pudsy with less tricks lol

So Max is finally here, we ( my friendís husband took me to collect him, ) and heís gradually settling in, heís very happy with his crate, in fact heís not wanted to leave it all day, Iíve been playing with him for short intervals, heís not keen on being picked up but settles ok when I do. How do I put a picture on here ?

Brilliant!   can't wait to see him, to post a picture when you post click on the "Attachments and other options" then choose file......find your photo on your computer and click on the photo and it will be added to the attachment box  then click post and fingers crossed we will all see him!. He will probably get tired quickly until he's fully settled in and then you will know it when he shows you who's the boss lol  have fun and congratulations on you bundle of furry fun

First night went well I think, heís very good at using the pads to wee and poop in, it was chucking it down with rain last night so we didnít get outside to do wees and poop heís still not keen on being picked up and although I brought him out of the crate earlier and settled him on the sofa, I donít want to push him too much,. He does lick and chew my hands when I fuss him, time and patience I think. Iíve tried uploading photos but it doesnít accept them, to large

He will be fine, my Rory doesn't like being picked up all the time either as he's always wanting to play with his toys or explore also he still savages me but its only rough playing with him and he wouldn't think of really biting ya or anyone else ......if he does get to exited with it i just tell him to stop.....which he totally ignores lol and i just ignore him and he soon gets the message. Not all dogs are alike Hamish my Cavalier would be shocked at Rory's behaviour as I only heard him woof once and he was so laid back he didn't mind doing anything for a easy life. we used to take him to the vets and he couldn't wait to get in there and they loved him as he just stood on the table while they poked and prodded him and not scared of needles etc. make sure he cannot fall off the sofa or bed as his little bones will still be a bit weaker at his age. I'm not quite sure how you resize your photos for on here as i use some old software which does it automatically ...will try and find out. cheers and have fun x

We went to the vet yesterday for Maxís first jabs and he was as good as gold, the vet was very happy with his general state of health and heís due back in two weeks for the second lot of jabs. He got a lot of attention and why not heís so cute!! When we got back he seemed to come out of his shell even. more, coming to me and playing, he loves my dressing gown cord 😂 and resisting less when I picked him up 😂 we had his snuffle mat out and his flip board, ( levers and hides holes with treats 😂)
Vet also very happy with what Iím feeding him (Wainwrightís large breed puppy food and Lilyís kitchen wet food. Weíve had snuggles on the sofa this morning and he slept for the most part of the night next to the sofa on the floor xxx I think heís starting to settle at last! ❤️❤️🐾🐾🐶😍

Aww sounds like going OK  :cheesy:
For the photo, you may need to compress it or reduce the size.  If you have something like photoshoot it's quite easy in there. Might be worth Googling 'how to reduce size of photo' and you may find one to match programmes you have xx

glad he is settling in - he sounds like a treasure - for image try a web site called resizeimage.net -they talk you though the process and you can change the image type as well so you can resize or crop then once you have re-sized  the physical image its self, the last option (6) will let you change the file formatt  try saving as a png - - depending on the size of an original jpeg it can compress the file without loss of quality. The file size limit to attach here is 1000kb - so once you have got down too that file size it should be fine.

I always use this free software, Image Resizer Powertoy Clone   download here. https://image-resizer-powertoy-clone.en.softonic.com/?ex=BB-682.1   and for most websites I just reduce it to small or medium and is a very small file size and doesn't seem to affect image quality.
Looking forward to seeing him   what makes ya think i love animals? lol

Were having a few issues at the moment, namely max clearly not liking me picking him up and heís fighting me when I try to put his collar on, Iím getting help with him from a local dog traiiner, hopefully heís going to get back to me soon. Iím worried that if I canít control him now then heíll be impossible later when heís bigger and stronger . Sorry to ramble on about this when people have far worse problems dealing with their grief on here xx

How old is he? he's only very young and some dogs do and some don't wearing a collar straightaway....is his collar soft and narrow (even better if its like a round tube so no hard edges so they hardly notice they are wearing one) he will have to wait so long for all his vaccinations which seem like forever but its important you stick to the plan. My Rory is 18 months old and he still fights me when i pick him up but he is tiny but strong for his size, they like to have some space so they can explore for themselves and after a while once they know where everything is in the house they will be bye your side (they like to be friends with those holding the treat jar lol) Its a good thing to do some training and socialise him with other people and dogs........one of my problems with Rory is due to my health probs so cannot run around training him but he goes to the dogsitter quite a lot and they have other dogs there which he loves to play with, and he goes to the vetts and they love him as he's so good there.....which always surprises me as he can be a little git at times lol. Try not to expect too much from him as he's only been there a few days and like i said he needs to check out his new home. I have mentioned before that i personally cannot hold little wriggler Rory still to trim his hair and nails so he goes once a month to have them done and he loves it as they make a fuss of him and he sees loads of new faces which is good because we live alone here now i can easily go a couple of weeks without seeing a single person so not ideal but we cope ok and it gives me a reason to carry on and hopefully get healthier so i can play out with him more. See if you can find a local dog socialising/training group not a one person business as not all but there are quite a few "Dog Trainers" who will happily take your money and you will see very little rewards so find a local group and have a chat with them before you spend any money they should be able to help and give you advice plus its a great way to meet like minded people. Have fun and try not to keep picking him up he will soon realise your his mum and you will have a lovely little friend. x

Iíve actually got a guy coming tomorrow to start a training programme, Iím worried that these teething problems if not addressed could lead to bigger problems later on. I know heís only been with me a few days but I want to do the best I can for him, Iím sure as you say heíll settle down eventually but I think it will give me more confidence initially to have some one on one training that we can start now rather than wait for him to have all his jabs and me not to be able to manage him another three or four weeks down the line. I feel I need the training more than him!! Heís eight weeks old at the moment. I know with German shepherd dogs you need to start the training early, heíll get plenty of socialisation as well especially after his jabs, Iím going to take him out in Harryís old buggy later this week and weíll do a bit then. Without a car Iím limited to getting to places for puppy classes, there is one but theyíre in mid cycle and theyíre not doing anything more until after Christmas, well I donít want to wait that long. He can go to puppy day care one day a week once heís had his jabs , that will help him socialise as well.

Iíve found a couple of places that do puppy classes, one looks good and itís near me, heís coming on a treat, especially since Iíve relaxed more and just enjoying him while heís getting settled, heís following me round now and settling better at night xxx

Won't say i told you so LOL  he will be fine.......they are beautiful dogs and a few years ago one of my mates had one and he used to bring him down to see us......after a while the dog used to come and see us on his own and come in the house and sit staring at the cupboard where we stored treats lol then he would lay in front of our fire for a nap and our own Rotties used to sit there wondering why he got the rug befoe them lol.
Its great to hear he's settling. x
